The Fall of Mesopotamia

Picture
Ruins like these are what remain of Mesopotamia
Mesopotamian societies seemed like they had everything under control, so what would cause this empire to crumble? A few factors contributed to the collapse of this empire. First of all, overcrowding in the empire led to pollution. Secondly, aggressive war-tribes were fighting over geographic control. Lastly, the Mesopotamians had used water from the ocean to irrigate the soil. This caused the soil to become too salty and dry. These factors on their own wouldn't have been enough to destroy the empire, but together, they brought one of the strongest empires in the world to its knees.
The land that was once Mesopotamia still exists, but it is now inhabited by the Middle East.
